Jay Eisenstock is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in healthcare and technology. He understands key industry trends and is focused on promoting industry collaboration to make the process of healthcare more effective and efficient. While National Head, Provider eSolutions at Aetna, Jay demonstrated a strong track record of success negotiating strategic contracts exceeding $120M annually. He transformed the provider payment process leading Aetna to become one of the first commercial health plans requiring providers be paid electronically, established one of the first provider virtual credit card payment solutions for a commercial health plan, and managed all operational aspects for Aetna’s primary telemedicine relationship.

 

As a Senior Manager, Strategy & Product Management, Jay was a member of a due diligence team responsible for evaluating multi-million dollar corporate acquisitions giving Aetna a foothold in new market segments. He worked with a group of executives from three major corporations to define a new healthcare business concept. Additionally, his team established Aetna as an industry leader in electronic claims submissions and electronic payments. He also served as a HIPAA project manager tasked with bringing Aetna into compliance with the HIPAA Transactions and Code Set regulations. Jay was recruited by Condor Technology Solutions and served in several leadership positions. He was responsible for a 145-person workforce having full P&L responsibility including business development, marketing, and consulting. He implemented processes and system enhancements to increase the electronic claims volume from approximately 10% to 80% for a health plan client.

 

For Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Jay established the first department dedicated to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) within the insurance business unit, managed all aspects of the relationship at a leading healthcare information network, and coordinated the national rollout of an agency network for a major financial institution.

 

Jay received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and his Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Currently, he is the Board Chair Elect for the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), a Commissioner for the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), and serves on several committees with the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH).

 

Jay was recognized by Healthcare Payer News as one of 11 top executives and thought leaders in the healthcare IT industry, a finalist for Aetna’s highest employee recognition award, a recipient of the prestigious WEDI Andrew J. Melczer Leadership award, and has been bestowed a WEDI Leadership in Technology award.
